Clean oil is the cheapest insurance you can buy for your engine. At Complete Brake Service, we've been keeping Columbus drivers on the road since 1986 — and a fast, careful oil change is one of the most common reasons our customers come back. Whether your vehicle calls for conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic, or high-mileage oil, you'll get the right oil, a fresh filter, and a quick check of the fluids and tires that should be looked at while we have your car in the bay.
Different engines need different oil. We carry the major grades and weights, and we'll match what's right for your vehicle to what your manufacturer recommends. No upselling you into something you don't need.
The traditional choice for older engines and light-duty driving. Refined from crude oil, it's the most affordable option and works well when changed at the right interval.
A mix of conventional and synthetic oils. Better protection than conventional, better price than full synthetic. A good middle-ground for many vehicles.
Engineered for maximum protection, longer change intervals, and better performance in extreme temperatures. Required by many newer engines and turbocharged vehicles.
Formulated for vehicles with 75,000+ miles. Special additives reduce leaks, condition seals, and protect older engine components.

Schedule a Service Call (614) 221-4888We've been changing oil in Columbus since 1986. Our technicians have seen every make, model, and quirk — and they know what to watch for in the time it takes to drain a pan.
We carry conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic, and high-mileage formulations. We use what your manufacturer specifies, not whatever's cheapest on the shelf.
While we have your vehicle in the bay, we visually check fluids, belts, tire condition, and brake pad thickness. If something needs attention, you'll hear about it — with a clear price.
If your car doesn't need full synthetic, we won't sell you full synthetic. You'll leave knowing what was done, what wasn't, and what to keep an eye on.
The questions Columbus drivers ask us most about oil changes.
It depends on the type of oil and your vehicle. As a general guide: conventional oil every 3,000–5,000 miles, synthetic blend every 5,000–7,500 miles, and full synthetic every 7,500–10,000 miles or more. Always follow your owner's manual — modern engines and oils have pushed intervals longer than they used to be.
Conventional oil is refined from crude oil and is the most affordable option. Synthetic blend mixes conventional and synthetic for better protection at a moderate price. Full synthetic is engineered in a lab for maximum protection, longer change intervals, and better performance in extreme temperatures. Many newer vehicles — especially turbocharged engines — require full synthetic.
If your owner's manual specifies full synthetic, yes — using a lower grade can damage the engine and may void warranty coverage. If your vehicle is approved for conventional or blend, you don't need to upgrade unless you want the extra protection or longer change intervals. We'll tell you what your vehicle actually requires, not what gets us a bigger ticket.
Most oil changes take 30 to 45 minutes once we get to your vehicle. Schedule ahead and we'll have you in and out quickly. If we spot something else that needs attention during the multi-point check, we'll quote it before doing any additional work.
Yes. While the oil is draining we visually check coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and washer fluid levels. We also look at tire condition and tread depth, brake pad thickness, and any obvious leaks. If we see something, you'll know about it. No surprise repairs.
No. Federal law (the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) protects your right to have routine maintenance performed at any qualified shop without affecting your factory warranty — as long as the correct oil and filter are used and the work is documented. Keep your service records and you're covered.
Yes. We replace the oil filter with every oil change. The filter traps contaminants from the old oil; reusing it would put dirty contaminants back into your fresh oil right away. A new filter is part of every oil change we perform.
